Mayor of Loznica Signs Regional Action Plan for Women in the Labour Market

30 June 2026

Dragana Lukić, Mayor of the City of Loznica, has signed the Regional Action Plan for Women in the Labour Market in Peripheral Industrial Regions for the Loznica region.

The Action Plan was developed as a result of pilot activities carried out in Loznica within the European project WIN – Women in the Labour Market in Peripheral Industrial Regions, which has recently been completed. The Association of Business Women in Serbia participated in the project as a consortium partner, while the City of Loznica served as a strategic partner. By adopting the Action Plan, the City has reaffirmed its commitment to further strengthening policies and initiatives that support women’s economic empowerment and sustainable local development.

The Action Plan is one of the key strategic outcomes of the WIN project, implemented under the Interreg Danube Region Programme, and forms part of a joint framework developed across seven pilot regions in Serbia, Slovenia, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Hungary and the Czech Republic.

By signing this document, the City of Loznica has once again demonstrated its commitment to integrating the results of European initiatives into local development policies.

The WIN project delivered a number of important results in Loznica. A Women’s Ethno Hub was established as a platform connecting women active in the local economy. Training sessions on digital marketing and the use of artificial intelligence tools for promoting products and services were organised, while social entrepreneurship and the circular economy were also introduced as important topics for local development.

Another lasting outcome of the project is the online catalogue, “Women’s Ethno Hub – With Love from Loznica,” which promotes authentic products and services created by women from the Loznica region. The catalogue increases the visibility of local women entrepreneurs while also promoting the city’s tourism potential.

The achievements from Loznica have also been featured in the international WIN Handbook for Social Innovation, which showcases good practices from all seven partner countries.

The Association of Business Women in Serbia extends its sincere gratitude to Mayor Dragana Lukić for her support, openness to cooperation and partnership, which made it possible to successfully implement the activities of this highly successful European project in Loznica.

The results achieved through this joint effort provide a strong foundation for continued cooperation and the development of new initiatives that contribute to women’s economic empowerment and the sustainable development of the local community.
