STREAM IT Mentoring Programme Successfully Completed: Strengthening Science Communication Skills and Professional Development

Over the past three months, the Association of Business Women in Serbia successfully implemented the STREAM IT Mentoring Programme for students, designed to enhance participants’ skills in science communication, public speaking, and professional development in the fields of research, innovation, and digital transformation.

Throughout the programme, participants took part in a series of structured weekly mentoring sessions, where they developed key competencies relevant to today’s scientific and professional environment. These included the ability to communicate research findings clearly and persuasively, build a strong professional identity, and gain confidence in public speaking and presentation settings.

The programme was led by distinguished mentors from academia and the business sector:

  • Prof. Tatjana Mamula Nikolić, PhD, Full Professor at the Belgrade Banking Academy – Faculty of Banking, Insurance and Finance
  • Prof. Sonja D. Radenković, PhD, Associate Professor at the Belgrade Banking Academy – Faculty of Banking, Insurance and Finance
  • Tijana Sekulić, Founder of AT Consulting, Digital Transformation Consultant, and Certified AI Manager

Thanks to the mentors’ combined expertise, the programme successfully brought together academic excellence, industry experience, and modern approaches to digital competencies, creating an environment in which participants strengthened their ability to communicate science and effectively present their professional achievements.

The STREAM IT Mentoring Programme has thus successfully completed an important phase of supporting the development of competencies that connect science, communication, and contemporary professional practice. The next step will be the National Science Communication Competition, where participants will have the opportunity to apply the skills acquired during the programme in a competitive setting. The winner of the national competition will represent Serbia at the International Science Communication Competition, which will take place in Budapest on 16 June 2026.

The programme was implemented within the framework of the project ST(R)E(A)M IT: Streaming Girls and Women into STEAM Education, Innovation and Research, a European project funded under the Horizon WIDERA Programme.
