The Fourth Partner Meeting of the WIN Project Held in Livno

23.10.2025.

The fourth partner meeting within the project WIN / Impoving the position of Women in the labour markets of peripheral INdustrial regions was held in Livno (Bosnia and Herzegovina) on October 21–22, 2025. The project is implemented through the Interreg Danube Transnational Programme and aims to create a more inclusive and efficient labour market for women in peripheral industrial regions by developing innovative employment models and removing cultural and institutional barriers that limit the utilization of their professional potential.

The Association of Business Women in Serbia, one of the project partners, was represented at the meeting by Dragana Panajotović, Executive Director, and Ivana Petrović, Marketing and Communications Manager.

The main program began with a study visit to Livno Dairy, renowned for its traditional Livno cheese — the region’s flagship product and one of the most recognizable brands of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This was followed by a presentation on birdwatching-based tourism, one of the fastest-growing sectors in global tourism. The Stur.ba agency, specialized in organizing such excursions, showcased the potential of active and sustainable tourism that links natural heritage with the economic empowerment of local communities.

The official part of the meeting was opened by Miroslav Jaglica, Minister of Economy, and Ivan Vukadin, Prime Minister of the Canton 10 (Herzeg-Bosnia County). Following their opening remarks, the agenda included presentations of results and pilot region activities, such as the Catalogue of Good Practices, testing of social innovations, awareness-raising activities, the WIN pilot video and WIN Sociopoly board game, as well as an announcement of the upcoming transnational conference.A special highlight of the event was a session dedicated to personal stories of women from the pilot regions and preliminary policy recommendations.

The second day focused on a transnational workshop in the “world café” format, during which partners and potential programme beneficiaries exchanged experiences and identified recommendations for improving support models for women in peripheral industrial regions.

The meeting concluded with a joint lunch and an optional field visit to the Eyes of Sturba site and a photo safari with wild horses on Mount Cincar — a unique natural attraction of the region.

The project’s final conference will take place in May 2026 in Hungary.

The WIN project brings together 10 partners from 7 countries — Serbia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Bulgaria, Austria, and the Czech Republic — with a shared mission to expand women’s access to employment, entrepreneurship, and social empowerment opportunities in peripheral industrial regions.
