In Ljubljana, on February 28, 2024, the kick-off meeting of the project Improving the position of women on the labor market in peripheral industrial regions – WIN, which was approved within the European mechanism Interreg – Danube Transitional Program, was held in the Atrium of ZRC SAZU.

The goal of the project is to improve the position of women in the labor market in peripheral industrial regions and contribute to an accessible, more inclusive and efficient labor market, in order to encourage new opportunities for their employment and remove cultural and institutional obstacles that prevent them from using their professional potential.

Dragana Panajotovic, project manager, participated on behalf of ABW Serbia. The project will be implemented in the next two and a half years by a consortium of 10 partners from 7 countries.

In addition to ABW Serbia, partners from Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Bulgaria, Austria and the Czech Republic were also participating.

As part of the meeting in Slovenia, after the kick-off meeting, two more events were held in Trbovlje on February 29: a study visit and a transnational workshop. In the morning, the study visit was held in the municipality of Trbovlje, which is an associated strategic partner in the project, and the partners were received by the assistant mayor Vesna Jesih.

As an example of good practice in the employment of women, the partners visited the DEVESoft company, while in the afternoon a participatory transnational workshop was organized with a focus on challenges related to the employment of women in the local environment, in the municipality of Trbovlje, but also in the countries and regions from which the project partners are coming.
