Participation of ABW representatives at Almedalen Week in Sweden

For the fourth time, the Association of Business Women in Serbia (ABW) participated in Almedalen Week (22 – 26 June 2026), Sweden’s renowned festival of democracy, held in Visby on the island of Gotland.

As a partner of the Freja Forum Foundation, ABW contributes through more than twenty years of organization and participation in Freja Forums and International Women’s Day Freja seminars, but also through events organized within the framework of Almedalen Week.

This year, ABW was represented by Maja Vuletić and Lara Kiš, who took part in seminars focusing on young people’s perspectives on the future of democracy in the Western Balkans and the EU, as well as on the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Our young representatives made a remarkable impression, and perhaps the best testimony to the value of this experience comes from their own reflections:

“First and foremost, it was an unforgettable adventure, and even more importantly, an exceptional step forward in my career. There are simply no words to describe an experience like this. Sweden is a beautiful country, and Margareta and Karin were wonderful hosts who took excellent care of us. The people we had the opportunity to meet, thanks to Margareta Eklund, are individuals we will probably never have the chance to encounter again, nor would we have met them if it had not been for her. For that, we are immensely grateful.

Once again, thank you to you and the Association of Business Women in Serbia for caring about young people in Serbia, for helping us find a path toward success, and for continuously providing the support and motivation that we all need.”

– Maja Vuletić

“I would simply like to thank you for the opportunity to participate in one of the Freja activities. I learned so much and met truly wonderful people. This journey inspired both Maja and me to strive for great achievements in the future!”

– Lara Ki

Through initiatives such as these, ABW continues to invest in the development of future young entrepreneurs, providing opportunities for international networking, learning, and active participation in discussions on democracy, leadership, and the future of Europe.
