National dissemination and presentation of the project „Women entrepreneurship – A Job Creation Engine for South Eastern Europe“

On September 25th was held the event dedicated to dissemination of results of the project „Women Entrepreneurship – A Job Creation Engine for South Eastern Europe“ in Belgrade.

National dissemination of results was a part of a two-day event: regional B2B meetings organized by Enterprise Europe Network, and international conference of Associations of Business Women and Women Entrepreneurs „Women entrepreneurs of new age: New Opportunities for Regional Economic Revival“. The event was held in Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia on September 25 and 26. 2015.

147 participants from Serbia and regional countries, representatives of relevant institutions and media representatives attended the event.

Representatives of partners’ institutions on the project addressed the present audience in the part of the conference dedicated to the presentation of results. Dragana Djurica, the coordinator of Investment Committee, represented Regional Cooperation Council-RCC; Dragan Sabljic, coordinator for social-economic development, represented Gender Task Force-GTF from Zagreb, and Dusica Semencenko, member of SEECEL women entrepreneurs working group, represented Institute „Mihajlo Pupin“. The chairperson of the dissemination event was Olivera Popovic, vice-president of Association of Business Women in Serbia.

After presentation of partner representatives, participants were able to see the film about project „Women Entrepreneurship – A Job Creation Engine for South Eastern Europe“. Tijana Sekulic, member of SEECEL women entrepreneurs working group, AT Consulting Agency, talked about training materials and recording of movies about good entrepreneurship practices. Afterwards followed movie about examples of good practices „Women Entrepreneurs Inspiring Stories and Videos – Learning Tool“ was projected. It represented stories of successful women entrepreneurs from Serbia: Tatjana Jevdjovic (Beauty Imagini), Biljana Trifunovic (International Financial Agency-IFA) and Gordana Djurdjevic (SLOVO).

The project „Women Entrepreneurship – A Job Creation Engine for South Eastern Europe“ started in 2012 and will be finished in 2015. The main objective of the project is the promotion of women entrepreneurship through combined public and private sector efforts. Specific goals of project are: a) promotion of best policy practices in women entrepreneurship in line with the Small Business Act (SBA) in Europe, and b) capacity building of national and regional women entrepreneurs networks & associations.

The project purposes are policy support frameworks for women entrepreneurship initiated/advanced in beneficiary countries based on best practices, and women entrepreneurs networks/associations in beneficiary countries able to support women entrepreneurs and better represent their interests.
