25 Sep Big International Conference of ABW Serbia „Women Entrepreneurs of New Age: New Opportunities for Regional Economic Revival“
From 26 to 27 September 2013, Association of Business Women of Serbia, in conjunction with the Enterprise Europe Network Serbia, will be holding a big international conference of women entrepreneurs titled “Women Entrepreneurs of New Age: New Opportunities for Regional Economic Revival”.
This important gathering will be organized in Niš, the city which celebrates this year 17 centuries from the promulgation of the Edict of Milan as well. Through this event Association of Business Women of Serbia wishes to support the idea of internationalism and multiculturalism, which is the main thread permeating this major jubilee.
The conference will assemble 170 participants and women entrepreneurs from as many as 16 countries: Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Hungary, Macedonia, Germany, Italy, Montenegro, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, USA, as well as participants from Serbia. The gathering will be also attended by numerous representatives of domestic and international institutions competent for development of entrepreneurship and economy.
The venue of the Conference and business B2B is “Tami Residence” Hotel in Niš, and the opening ceremony will take place on 26 September 2013.
After the opening ceremony, on the first Conference day, at the panel titled “Women Entrepreneurship Networks in Europe and the Role of Advocacy in Regional Economic Revival” guests from different countries will present functioning of their national associations of women entrepreneurs, as well as their experiences in regional and international interconnecting.
The second Conference day will be fully dedicated to the business networking, wherefore were planned B2B meetings between participants according to the methodology of Enterprise Europe Network (EEN). EEN is a European project implemented in Serbia by the National Agency for Regional Development in consortium with Universities of Niš, Novi Sad, Belgrade and “Mihajlo Pupin” Institute, which is the organizer of this, so far biggest B2B meeting of women entrepreneurs, given that as many as 120 of them applied for participation in business networking. Important role in this unique business event also play the co-organizers: EEN Sweden, EEN Slovakia, EEN Hungary, EEN Macedonia and EEN Montenegro, by bringing a significant number of their companies.
For the same day is also envisaged a panel discussion on institutional support to women entrepreneurship with participants from Serbia, Sweden and USA. Thereupon is foreseen a round table on access to finances, moderated by representatives of the BAS Programme of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Serbia.
The Conference is supported by numerous domestic and international organizations, institutions, enterprises of members of Associations of Business Women and the corporative sector. Institutional support to the Conference is given by the Ministry of Economy of Serbia, US Embassy in Serbia, BAS Programme of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Serbia and the British-Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
