Starting Up Companies to Feed the Family

Unlike in the countries of the European Union, where women own 30 to 40 percent of companies, in our country only every fourth enterprise is managed by a woman.

President of the Association of Business Women, Sanja Popović Pantić, points out that as many as 88 percent of women enterprises fall within the category of “micro” enterprises employing (up to) five persons; she adds that bankers, in principle, have more trust into businesses led by men “although conditions for obtaining a credit are rigorous for both sexes”.
