Sanja Popović Pantić: Women Have Become Increasingly Bold in Launching a Business

The president of the ABW Sanja Popović Pantić told the Tanjug Agency that mainly the middle-aged women in Serbia with secondary-level vocational qualification and those who are unemployed decide to start their own business. Popović Pantić added that of the total number of the smaller and medium-sized businesses 26 percent are “women´s companies” which means that Serbia is not lagging behind the European countries.

She pointed out that global trends indicate that women entrepreneurship is considered as a factor of the economic upswing, but in our region it is connected in particular with the social category. Therefore the commitment of the Government is more than important in order to support those businesses to stay sustainable, the president of the ABW emphasized.
