Strengthening the capacity of female BMO’s and FEMM INNO NET for public private dialog in five regions in Serbia and establishment of the project office unit within the ABW

September 2012-December 2012

This project has been developed as a result of a previous GIZ funded project in 2011, Promoting Innovativeness among Women Entrepreneurs, which achieved the goals of creating a network of female innovative companies (FEMM INNO NET) in the three regions of Belgrade, Kraljevo, and Valjevo, along with the municipalities belonging to these regions.

The overall objective of this project aims to accelerate the synergy of and increase R&D outputs among women already working in the research and development, as well as technological fields, through the promotion of entrepreneurship and networking opportunities.

Specific objectives include: accelerating commercialization of research, promoting private R&D investment among women owned and managed companies, and increasing opportunities for scientific female staff who may have never considered starting their own ventures

This expansion plan based on identifying and attracting female spin-off companies which have been established and are operating within institutes and universities, with a special focus on the two sectors previously identified, i.e. organic food producers and ICT vendors.
